Listen-Practice-Play Workshop with Claus Rückbeil, Lutz Schlosser and Marko Jovanović
Date
20/09–27/09/2025
In this summer course, which we have designed in collaboration with the Jazz School Berlin, the harmonica meets various quiet acoustic instruments: violin, flute, and even brass instruments are welcome, as long as they come with a mute. It promises to be an exciting experience. You’ll learn how to recognize different scales and modes and develop a sense for tension and resolution. Together, you’ll practice various movement patterns with the goal of being able to improvise freely and fluidly using the tonal material. For all the scale exercises, there are different technical levels, allowing everyone to progress at their own pace. A unique aspect of the course is that, over the week, small ensembles will naturally form from the mix of instruments. These ensembles offer a fantastic opportunity to inspire one another, listen, practice, and play together.
